Introducing Melaka Fray, Vampire Slayer: Whedon Unveils Who Will Be the Slayer in the 26th Century Il creatore di Buffy rivela chi sarà la Cacciatrice tra cinquecento anni: nuova serie (a fumetti) in arrivo The French magazine "Comic Box" (August-September 2000) has an article on Joss Whedon where Buffy creator unveils more about his project for a comic book called "Fray" (first mentioned earlier this Spring). The series will be about a Slayer in the 26th century called Melaka Fray. A certain Buffy Summers having been remarkably successful in the 21st century, vampires have since declined, and by the 26th century there is no active Slayer. There is still a Watchers' Council, however, and it hears disturbing rumors about Manhattan (of all places). The Council sends there a Watcher to activate a new Slayer, a street-smart New York girl called Melaka Fray. The series will include eight comic books and Dark Horse has recruited Karl Moline to co-operate with Joss Whedon. The latter does not exclude that from comics the series may land on TV. La rivista francese "Comic Box" (agosto-settembre 2000) pubblica un articolo su Joss Whedon dove il creatore di Buffy rivela qualche cosa di più sui suoi progetti per una serie a fumetti chiamata "Fray" (menzionata per la prima volta questa primavera). La serie riguarda una Cacciatrice del secolo XXVI, Melaka Fray. A causa del notevole successo di una certa Buffy Summers nel XXI secolo i vampiri hanno avuto un graduale declino e nel XXVI secolo non c'è più una Cacciatrice attiva. C'è ancora, però, il Consiglio degli Osservatori, cui giungono voci inquietanti sulla presenza di vampiri a Manhattan. Il Consiglio manda a New York un Osservatore per "attivare" una nuova Cacciatrice, una giovane rotta alla dura vita delle strade di Manhattan che si chiama Melaka Fray. La serie comprenderà otto episodi a fumetti e sarà prodotta dalla Dark Horse, che ha scelto il disegnatore Karl Moline per collaborare con Joss Whedon. Quest'ultimo non esclude di portare più tardi Fray dai fumetti alla televisione.
