THE 2002 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
June 20-23, 2002
at The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. and Brigham Young University International Center for Law and Religion Studies, Provo, Utah, U.S.A.
Organized by The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, CESNUR (Center for Studies on New Religions), Turin, Italy and Brigham Young University International Center for Law and Religion Studies; and in co-operation with ISAR (Institute for the Study of American Religion),USA
This international conference will provide an opportunity for scholars from around the world to share their insights and perceptions concerning the reaction and adaptation of individuals, religions and secular institutions to the growing diversity in many countries. There will be discussion, clarification, and exchange of information during the conference and participants will have an opportunity to develop wider networks. The formal proceedings will begin on the evening of Thursday, June 20, and will end on Sunday, June 23. Before and after the conference there will be an opportunity to visit major attractions in Salt Lake City and other locations of interest in Utah. A block of rooms will be reserved at the Marriott University Park Hotel which is adjacent to the University of Utah. Rooms can be reserved directly by participants for conference rates of $79.00 to $99.00. The hotel includes a restaurant, bar, athletic facilities, shuttle service to and from the airport and to the University, and it is anticipated that the conference banquet will be held at the hotel..

Speakers are invited from a broad range of disciplines, including sociology, anthropology, social psychology, history of religion, law, religious studies and theology. Graduate students are welcome. Unfortunately no scholarships will be available to cover the costs of travel or for hotels.
