THE SOCIETY AND THE CASTLE OF HUNEDOARA
An old dream of the society – to research the formidable Castle of Hunedoara – has come true in the summer of 2007. Assisting and filming the adventure – Sir Michael Bayley-Hughes (mike@telegtv.com) who made a DVD out of it.
Aside from being one of the few intact 15 century castles left in Europe ( alongside Castle Bran, for instance), Hunedoara sheltered for a few years two fugitive princes and cousins – Vlad the Impaler Dracula, of Valahia, and Stefan the Great, of Moldova.
If interested, you may join our second expedition (Sept. 2008) to see the sights of great legends and tales about gold treasures hidden under ruins, the gold mines from Roman times, very well-preserved ethno and folkloric traditions, landscapes galore. Just write us an e-mail to cdt@rdsmail.ro or company@mysteriousjourneys.com (duration: 9 days, 8 nights).
